Since worldwide tracking of COVID-19 began on January 23, 2020, there have been 56,435,244 total cases (up from 52,331,462 compared to a week ago) with 1,352,775 fatalities (up from 1,287,966 compared to a week ago) — 2.40% of total cases (down from 2.46% compared to a week ago).
In the United States, there have been 11,697,442 total cases (up from 10,474,012 compared to a week ago) resulting in 254,966 deaths (up from 244,421 compared to a week ago) — 2.18% of total cases.
Among Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, there have been a combined total of 1,554,232 cases (up from 1,308,274 compared to a week ago) resulting in 21,271 deaths (up from 19,369 compared to a week ago) — 1.37% of total cases (down from 1.48% compared to a week ago). The percent of deaths per cases back on August 13, 2020 for the six state area was 1.84%.
Throughout the six state area, the percentage of deaths out of the total number of cases is either on the decline in each of the six Midwest states or has plateaued over the past several weeks. Wisconsin continues to decline to the lowest rate in the six-state area.

•Illinois: 1.87% this week, 2.06% last week
•Minnesota: 1.25% this week, 1.44% last week
•North Dakota: 1.16% this week, 1.18% last week
•South Dakota: 1.03% this week, 0.97% last week
•Wisconsin: 0.84% this week, 0.85% last week
Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota have all reported COVID-19 positive cases in every county. South Dakota still has one county with no cases.
