Since worldwide tracking of COVID-19 began on January 23, 2020, there have been 52,331,462 total cases (up from 44,644,423 as of October 29, 2020) with 1,287,966 fatalities (up from 1,176,328 as of October 29, 2020) — 2.46% of total cases (down from 2.63% as of October 29, 2020).
In the United States, there have been 10,474,012 total cases (up from 8,949,332 as of October 29, 2020) resulting in 244,421 deaths (up from 231,033 as of October 29, 2020) — 2.33% of total cases.
Among Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, there have been a combined total of 1,308,274 cases (up from 780,317 as of October 29, 2020) resulting in 19,369 deaths (up from 15,217 as of October 29, 2020) — 1.48% of total cases (down from 1.95% as of October 29, 2020).
Throughout the six state area, the percentage of deaths out of the total number of cases is either on the decline in each of the six Midwest states or has plateaued over the past several weeks. Wisconsin continues to decline to the lowest rate in the six-state area.
• Iowa: 1.13% this week, 1.39% (as of 10/29/20)
• Illinois: 2.06% this week, 2.51% (as of 10/29/20)
• Minnesota: 1.44% this week, 1.72% (as of 10/29/20)
• North Dakota: 1.18% this week, 1.21% (as of 10/29/20)
• South Dakota: 0.97% this week, 0.91% (as of 10/29/20)
• Wisconsin: 0.85% this week, 0.88% (as of 10/29/20)
Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota have all reported COVID-19 positive cases in every county. South Dakota still has one county with no cases.
