Since worldwide tracking of COVID-19 began on January 23, 2020, there have been 87,588,168 total cases (up from 82,282,392 compared to two weeks ago) with 1,890,824 fatalities (up from 1,796,769 compared to two weeks ago) — 2.16% of total cases (down from 2.00% compared to two weeks ago).
In the United States, there have been 21,559,660 total cases (up from 19,745,674 compared to two weeks ago) resulting in 364,927 deaths (up from 341,801 compared to two weeks ago) — 1.69% of total cases.
Among Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, there have been a combined total of 2,461,296 cases (up from 2,351,064 compared to two weeks ago) resulting in 36,930 deaths (up from 34,799 compared to two weeks ago) — 1.50% of total cases (up from 1.48% compared to two weeks ago). The percent of deaths per cases back on August 13, 2020, for the six state area was 1.84%.
Throughout the six state area, the percentage of deaths out of the total number of cases is on the rise in each of the six Midwest states. Wisconsin continues to maintain the lowest rate in the six-state area.

• Minnesota: 1.30% this week, 1.27% two weeks ago
• North Dakota: 1.43% this week, 1.39% two weeks ago
• South Dakota: 1.51% this week, 1.48% two weeks ago
• Wisconsin: 1.02% this week, 1.01% two weeks ago
Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota have all reported COVID-19 positive cases in every county. South Dakota’s COVID-19 update used to show one county without any cases. The report now shows 10 counties without cases, so case reporting must have been adjusted to indicate there was no trace of COVID-19 activity in those additional nine counties.
