Constance (Connie) Pauline Rehm

August 14, 2017 by Fillmore County Journal

Fillmore County Journal, Constance Rehm obituary

Constance (Connie) Pauline Rehm joined her Heavenly Father and Savior August 10, 2017, after a 40-year relationship with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).  While most would have considered MS a battle, she saw it as a friend (not always a good one), allowing her to discover many wonderful things about this world.  She appreciated everyone whose life met hers.

Connie was born November 13, 1946, to Helen (Andreas) Roberson and Sam Roberson. Connie was lovingly raised by her parents, Helen and Homer Brown (stepfather) in Lanesboro, Minn.  At the age of 18, Connie fell in love with William (Bill) Rehm and they married December 27, 1964.  Connie and Bill raised their three children together on a farm west of Chatfield. Connie moved to Rochester in 1998 and became a resident of Hiawatha Homes in 2008.

Connie is survived by Bill Rehm of Rochester, Minn.;  her son Steve (Amy) Rehm of Wykoff, Minn.; her daughters Robin (George) Davidson of Eau Claire, Wis., and Christine (Rachael) Rehm-Zola of Minneapolis, Minn. Connie had six grandchildren, whom she loved very much: Mikayla, Micah, and Markus Rehm; Besu and Eyob Davidson, and Samara Senn.  Connie took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren.

Connie was artistic and enjoyed painting.  She created many beautiful works of art.  Connie also enjoyed outings with family or friends which included trips to the movie theater, shopping, and dining in restaurants. Every spring for the last 20 years, Connie participated in the MS Walk, bringing awareness to the disease and raising funds for MS research.

Family would like to offer special thanks to the many individuals who cared for Connie.  Hiawatha Homes and their staff who exceeded all standards and blessed Connie with great opportunities and love.  Connie was surrounded by wonderful people who visited often and blessed her weekly: childhood friend Lana Emmons; step-brother, Dick Brown of Newark, Ohio; and friend Sally Bublitz who opened her family and heart to Connie.  Lastly, thank you to all her caregivers at Mayo Clinic, especially Dr. Quirindongo-Cedeno, who not only exceeded all standards of care, but compassionately guided Connie along the path of MS and aging.

Family and friends are welcome to join us in thanking God for her life.  Funeral service will be Friday, August 18, at Chatfield Lutheran Church in Chatfield, Minn., at 11 a.m.  Memorial gifts given in her name are recommended to be given to the MS Society.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;  His mercies never come to an end;  they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23).
