Condensed Regular City Council Meeting Minutes of June 22, 2020.

Members Present: Mayor Benson, Council members O’Donnell, Ryman, Linder, Volkman

Staff Present:  Administrator Chladek, Clerk/Treas. Zacher

The meeting was called to order by an electronic group meeting on Zoom.

Boy Scouts from Troop 53 joined the meeting working on their Community Merit Badge.

Consent Agent included verified claims and fund summary report; received reimbursement for Presidential primary Elections, received State Demographer’s Office 2019 numbers

Mike Bubany, David Drown Associates, reviewed the placement of a Refunding Note for 2012 Tax Abatement Bond; saving approximately $58,100.  Approved Resolution Providing for Issuance and Sale of $594,000. GO Tax Abatement Refunding Note, Series 2020A.

Approved sale  of Lot 3, Blk 2, Himlie Business Park, 1109 Miller Circle to Horihan Properties, LLC for $175,521.50 which is full land price and half of the remaining assessments.  Purchaser intends to construct a 25,000 sq. ft. structure for office, warehouse and workshop space providing 3-5 jobs.

Approved Change Order #1 Zenke, Inc. for 2019 Street  Utility Improvement project.  Change order extends the final completion date to July 31, 2020.

R-P School Foundation Bluff Land Triathlon scheduled to be held at Creekside Park, Magelssen Bluff and City trails on August 15th.  City approved supporting the event and providing insurance for the city areas used.

Root River Jams music event originally scheduled for August has been cancelled.

Public works has aquatic center operational with some final tweaking; guidelines, rules, staffing, hours and fees are yet to be finalized.
