Concepcion R. Young

September 20, 2022 by Fillmore County Journal

Concepcion Young obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Concepcion R. Young, age 83, died on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at her home in Preston, Minn.

Concepcion Rodriguez Young, 83, of Preston, Minn., passed away on September 15, 2022, peacefully in her own home with family by her side. She was born to Carmen Pinto Garcia and Juan Rodriguez Lopez, on August 15, 1939, in Bordeaux, France. She married Frederick T. Young on January 21, 1967, in Preston, Minn., at St. Columban Catholic Church. During the first years of her marriage, Concepcion lived in several places as her husband served in the Air Force. She made Preston her home in 1970, where she lived the rest of her life.

Concepcion was a homemaker. She loved her family and was very proud of them. She showed her love by knowing exactly what each grandchild loved for a treat and always keeping it on hand just in case they happened to stop by. She always sent them out the door with a dose of love in the form of their favorite candies and a wave goodbye from the large picture window. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, embroidery, knitting, and cross stitch.

She leaves behind her husband Fred, son Rich, daughter in-law Kris, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. There will be private ceremony at a later date.
