The Lanesboro City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Lanesboro City Hall, 202 Parkway Avenue South, Lanesboro, MN.
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a proposed amendment to City Ordinance 151.20 – Classification of Zoning Districts. The amendment would establish an Ashburn Street East Overlay Zone within the City of Lanesboro.
This overlay zone is intended to adjust setback requirements along both sides of Ashburn Street East—from Parkway Avenue North eastward to the Root River—to accommodate future improvements and redevelopment. The goal is to maintain the character of existing zoning districts while recognizing that roadway improvements may reduce typical setbacks adjacent to the right-of-way.
