Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Lanesboro, MN, will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Lanesboro City Hall, 202 Parkway Avenue South, Lanesboro, MN to consider and adopt the proposed assessment for the 2025 sidewalk improvements.

The improvements include sidewalk construction on the 700 block of Fillmore Avenue South and the 100 block of Coffee Street East. The area proposed to be assessed for such improvements includes properties identified by the following parcel identification numbers: 190384000, 190099000, 190101000, and 190102000. The total cost of the improvement is $5,862.36.

Such assessments are proposed to be payable over seven (7) years at four (4) percent per annum and will be levied against the benefitted properties. An owner may appeal an assessment to the district court pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 429.081 by serving notice of the appeal upon the mayor or clerk of the city within 30 days after the adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the district court within ten days after service upon the clerk.

Pursuant to Minn. Stat. §§ 435.193 to 435.195 and Ordinance 93.50, the City Council may, at its discretion, defer the payment of this special assessment for any homestead property owned by a person who is 65 years of age or older, retired by virtue of a permanent and total disability, or a member of the National Guard or other reserves ordered to active military service, for whom it would be a hardship to make the payments.
