The City of Canton has adopted the Minnesota Basic Code of Ordinances as it has been amended and supplemented. The basic code permits the city to adopt by ordinance a schedule of fees and charges for various services, licenses and permits.
An update to the Fee Ordinance (Ordinance 2026-01) was adopted by the Canton City Council on December 10, 2025. The ordinance describes numerous fees, but the fees that changed are specifically summarized as follows:
Sanitary Sewer Rates
Base Monthly Fee $43.00
Per 1,000 Gallons Used $7.00
Water Rates
New Service Connection/Meter Replacement $380.00
Bulk Water Base Fee $40.00
This is only a summary of the Fee Ordinance. It is hereby determined that publication of this title and summary ordinance will clearly inform the public of the intent and effect of the Fee Ordinance. A copy of the entire Fee Ordinance will be available for review at Canton City Hall during regular office hours of the City Clerk.
