Chatfield Discusses Tennis and Pickle Ball Courts

December 1, 2025 by Karen Reisner Leave a Comment

Fillmore County Journal - Chatfield MN

At the November 24 meeting of the Chatfield City Council a proposed reconstruction of the existing tennis court area was discussed. Councilors Pam Bluhm and Dave Frank were absent.

If the Chatfield School Board moves forward with the proposed reconstruction of the existing tennis court area, the city council approved a pledge to be a partner by providing a one-time $50,000 fee to be used for maintenance over time. This was recommended by the Park and Recreation Committee.

When the existing tennis courts were installed, the city paid for installation and the school agreed to pay for maintenance over time. This is now turned around with the school proposing to pay for the installation of a tennis court and pickle ball courts and the city providing this one-time fee for maintenance over time.
