Charles Bennett obituary, Fillmore County Journal

December 25, 1955 – May 27, 2026

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Charles Bennett, who died peacefully on May 27, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on Christmas Day in 1955, Charles was the beloved son of Gail and Enoch Bennett. He spent his life committed to his work, family, and good conversations at the car lot. His lifelong passion and career were rooted in the used car business, a world he loved and understood deeply. His passion for cars and his easy way with people made his work feel like a calling. Even as Alzheimer’s disease progressed, talking about cars continued to bring him comfort and a familiar spark.

Away from work, he enjoyed many rounds of golf and the steady companionship of his beloved cat, Bear. Charles was previously married to Kimberly Bennett, with whom he shared the blessing of a blended family, including his stepchildren and daughter.

He is survived by his daughter Nicole, stepson William, stepdaughter Felicia, seven siblings, nine grandchildren, and a large, loving extended family.

He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love for the car business, and the laughter he brought to everyday moments. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will be held with love and gratitude.

From the depths of our hearts, he will be profoundly missed.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 12, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., all at St. Patrick’s Church in Lanesboro, Minn. A luncheon will follow in the church hall, with burial afterward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family, with a designation to be decided.

Thank you for keeping his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Hoff Funeral Home Lanesboro is assisting the family. Please visit www.hofffuneral.com to leave an online condolence.
