Charles “Chuck” John Nordsving

June 20, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Charles Nordsving obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Charles “Chuck” John Nordsving, son of Carol (Myhre) and Manferd Nordsving, was born on January 25, 1958, and passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2024.

Chuck spent his first few years in Spring Grove until moving to Harmony where he attended school and graduated with the Spirit of ‘76 class.

Chuck’s teenage years were spent hanging out with his friends at the pool hall, where he was well known for his foosball skills.  In 1979, Chuck married Mary Jo Daniels where they had their son Ryan, and lived in Rochester while working at AMPI.  They later divorced.

For the past 21 years, Chuck had worked as a driver for Handi Van transporting patients.  He loved this job, they loved him, and clients requested him.  Always the flirt, he would bring candy to the nurses when picking up patients.  Chuck’s love of music and motorcycles brought him to many concerts and festivals and several trips to Sturgis and rallies with his buddies.

Whenever Chuck would talk of a friend, he would always add “my buddy” before their name, every single time.

Chuck’s dry sense of humor, quick wit, one-liners, and the ability to literally laugh out loud without cracking a smile will always be remembered and missed by all who knew him.  Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.

Survived by son Ryan Lee, grandson Keaton, sisters Lisa Scheevel and Kelly Hansen, nephews Jesse Scheevel, Cassidy Nordsving and Kaden Hansen; niece Sarah Mensink, and great-niece Delaney Scheevel.

A gathering for family and friends will take place on Sat., June 29, from 5-7 p.m. at Estelle’s Eatery in Harmony.
