Event organizer Stacey Rath invites Fillmore County Journal readers to join the Spring Valley community for Ag Days, happening August 11-17, as they celebrate Southeast Minnesota’s rich agricultural roots.
“Ag Days is one of those celebrations that so many look forward to every year,” said Rath. “It’s a time when our community comes together for one sole purpose: to enjoy what we have to offer, the great businesses that support us, and the individuals who travel from near and far to come back and enjoy what Spring Valley is, a small community that supports each other. We have a great committee that works hard to come up with so many great ideas for everyone of all ages, to have a memorable time.”
A brand-new event sure to make an impact, literally, is Knockerball, a hilarious and energetic game of bubble soccer. It’s bound to be fun for both players and spectators!
Don’t miss the Small Business Scavenger Hunt. Get a group together and stop by Midwest Sales for your first clue from Stacey after 5 p.m. on Thursday, then follow the trail of clues around town. A prize awaits the winner! While you’re out and about, keep on the lookout for Bonnie’s Hidden Gems. These painted rocks are hidden throughout Spring Valley. Find the right one, and you’ll win a prize.
Looking for something cold, refreshing, and delicious? Be sure to stop by the First National Bank’s ice cream social on Friday afternoon.
Popular returning events include the Antique Tractor Show, Quilt Show, Spring Valley Garden Club Flower Show, Gopher State Garden Tractor Pull, Top of the Hill Cratebox Derby, Antique Tractor and Pickup Pull, grand parade, beer garden, and fireworks.
Make sure to catch a performance of Harvey, a comedy about an imaginary 6 ½-foot-tall rabbit at the community center.
