The Spring Grove girls closed with a 9-to-3 run to defeat Southland by seven points, 54-47, at Adams on Feb. 9. The Lions completed the season sweep by hitting 7 of 9 late free throws while forcing three late Rebel turnovers. The Spring Grove girls struck early with a 20-0 run and went on to complete a season sweep of Lyle/Pacelli, 73-47. Chatfield’s girls went 2-1 on the week, beating Waseca 66-62, losing to Cotter 64-67, and beating D-E 60-58. Grand Meadow girls basketball had a huge week, knocking off the other three best teams in the SEC. On Monday, #11 in A GM took down Houston (8-2, 8-9).
