Fillmore County Journal - Carole McKinley Obituary

Carole Lucille McKinley, age 77, of Omaha, Nebr., passed away May 2, 2020, at UNMC.  Carole is survived by her husband Samuel J. McKinley, son Andrew J. McKinley, sisters Edna Ferris of Dallas, Tex., and Joyce (Marlo) White of Omaha; brother Daniel (Moni) Cutler of Blair, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great -nephews, and a host of beloved extended family and friends.

Carole was born in Preston, Minn., attended school in Wykoff, Minn., and college at Bob Jones University in S.C.  She and Sam were married April 5, 1969, and recently marked their 51st anniversary.  She managed their dairy farms in Minnesota as they farmed together along with their son Andrew.  She was a talented pianist and organist and used her music to bless the Lord and folks in many venues.  Carole loved her extended family and did extensive research in family history.  A lover of flowers, hats and feeding people, she was regarded as the premiere pie maker in her family.  (A nephew in South Korea recently commented that he felt the urge to go buy an oven and pie plate and bake a pie from scratch as she had tried to teach him to do. **needs lard**)  Visits to their farm in Minnesota included picnics in the parks in Preston, Minn., and Decorah, Iowa, sleigh rides nearby at Christmas, and exploring her beloved Fillmore County, Minn.  She served the Lord in many capacities as well as her music, including S.S. superintendent, deaconess, Alliance Women, missionary support, and always a faithful prayer warrior.

Preceded in death by her parents George and Lucille Cutler, brother Earl Cutler, and great-nephew Jenson Aaron.

Memorials may be designated to the family to disperse to missions.

Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Faith Family Church, 9515 Blondo st. Omaha, Nebr. Roeder Mortuary is handling arrangements. A Memorial Hymn Sing will be scheduled at a later date.
