Carol Eppen obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Carol J. Eppen, 97, of Chatfield, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Carol was born on June 26, 1928 in Goodhue, Minnesota. On May 14, 1954, she married Willie Eppen; together they raised a family that brought her endless pride and joy. Carol was a deeply devoted family woman who adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always treasuring the moments spent with those closest to her. Carol’s warmth touched everyone she met.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Willie, her son Ronni, and her sister Lois. Her legacy of love lives through her siblings, Jim (Sandy) Lohman, and Judy (Joe) Hines; her children and their spouses: Rick (Tammie) Eppen, Nancy (Mike) Shumaker, and Sue (Tom) Miller; her seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her extended family including the deeply appreciated staff at Rochester East that became family.

A celebration of Carol’s life will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. with Reverend Peter Haugen. She will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony.
