Carol Adams

January 4, 2021 by Fillmore County Journal

Carol Adams obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Carol Adams, age 83, of Chatfield and formerly of Blue Earth, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, with Rev. Debra Collum officiating.

Carol Marie was born December 21, 1937, to Cecil and June (Nelson) Smith in Blue Earth. She graduated in 1957. On September 10, 1963 she married Roger Edwin Adams and then later divorced. Carol and the children moved around several times but Carol always considered Blue Earth home.

Carol enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and cooking. If she wasn’t doing one those things you would most likely find her watching her favorite TV shows or listening to Elvis Presley. She had a love of cats and birds, especially cardinals. She was an avid bingo player as well. She was known around Chatfield as the lady on the scooter with the sparkly hat. Those that knew her will miss her big heartfelt smile and her love for her grandkids will never be forgotten.

Left to cherish such wonderful memories are her children Susan Manthe of Minnesota Lake, Laura Adams (Matt Hanson) of Chatfield and Robert “Cecil” Adams (Cheryl Newman) of Mankato; her grandchildren Brooke, Ashley (Alli), Tyler, Alexandra (Lexi), Taylor, Aleisha and Elena. Her first great-grandchild is due soon. Her sister Joanne Koehler survives, as well as many other family members and friends who will miss her, too.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Cecil Smith (stillborn), sister Delores (Peggy) Cyphers, brother-in-law Alvin (Al) Cyphers, brother-in-law Charles (Zeke) Koehler, and her ex-husband.
