Brenda Rieken obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Memorial service for Brenda L. Rieken will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow, Minn., with Rev Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be held at the Grand Meadow Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Brenda Reiken passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at her home in Grand Meadow.

Brenda was born April 5, 1960, in Harmony, Minn., to Duane and Jean (Pint) Alden. She attended Grand Meadow Schools and was united in marriage to Allen Rieken on November 3, 1979, in Austin, Minn. To this union one son, Erin was born. Brenda was a caregiver; she worked as a nursing assistant for 25 years at the Spring Valley Hospital and Nursing Home, taking time off to care for her parents Duane and Jean. She then went to work at Fleet Farm in Rochester, Minn., for 16 years before retiring. Brenda enjoyed keeping up on all the adventures of her many nieces and nephews and their children, often asking for pictures and updates, she also enjoyed putting puzzles together, chocolate, riding motorcycle with her husband Allen and absolutely adored her dogs!

She is survived by her son Erin of Lake Mills, Iowa, her siblings Gordy (Melissa) Alden of Grand Meadow, Minn., Randy “Red” Alden of Grand Meadow, Deb (Al) Larson of Preston, Michelle Alden of Grand Meadow, and Roxane (Terry) Kraling of Preston, Minn. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Allen in 2017, her parents – Duane in 2009 and Jean in 2020, and a brother, Bruce.
