Mabel-Canton’s Riley Snell makes the second of two free throws to give the Cougars a 62-59 lead with 0:10 versus Kingsland, helping increase M-C’s win chances greatly. M-C prevailed by a 63-59 final, improving to 4-2 in the SEC, 5-3 overall.

Three Rivers Conference

#7 in AA PEM 56, Rushford-Peterson 30 (R-P: Dawson Bunke 14 pts (4-9 threes). Grand Hengel DNP. Trojans > 1-2, 4-4) 

Dover-Eyota 57, Fillmore Central 72 (FC: J. Kiehne 25 pts (10-19 FGs), 8 rebs, 4 asts; Bryce Corson 13 pts (5-9 FGs), 7 rebs; Gunner Benson 10 pts, 11 rebs; Will Parker 9 pts, 7 rebs; Dillon O’Connor 8 pts (4-4 FTs), 7 rebs. FC led 35-34 at halftime, opened second stanza by scoring 19 of the first 23 points to lead 54-38. FC won despite going 4 of 30 from deep (13%)) 

Wabasha-Kellogg 57, Caledonia 90 (C: R. Klug 20 pts (six threes); Lewis Doyle 19 pts (three threes); Garrett Konz 12 pts; Mason King 10 pts. Warriors hit 14 threes total, scored 59 points by halftime) 

Southeast Conference

Kingsland 59, Mabel-Canton 63 (M-C: C. Tollefsrud 20 pts (3-7 threes), 11 rebs; T. Larson 16 pts (7-13 FGs); Jordan Larson 14 pts (3-8 threes), 6 rebs; Riley Snell 5 pts, 6 rebs, 4 asts. K: J. Brink 27 pts (5-13 threes), 8 rebs; Max Erdman 10 pts; Mason Kolling 8 pts, 9 rebs. Cougars overcame a four-point deficit in the final couple minutes. J-Larson hit a couple key threes late, the second putting M-C up one (60-59). J-Larson then authored a steal. Snell then made two free throws to make it 62-59 with 0:10 left. J-Larson then got another steal on Kingsland’s next possession, making one free throw to ice the game. Threes: M-C 7 of 19 (37%), K 7 of 27 (25%). FTs: MC 8 of 22 (36%), K 6 of 16 (37%). Cougars > 4-2, 5-3. Knights > 1-3, 2-6) 

Fillmore Central’s Jayce Kiehne goes reverse in the Falcons game versus Dover-Eyota. FC expanded a 35-34 halftime lead with a big second half, posting a 72-57 win. It was their fourth win in five tries. Kiehne led the way with 25 points.

Chatfield 78, Triton 53 (C: I. Stevens 21 pts (9-14 FGs), 9 rebs; E. Hopp 20 pts (7-11 FGs, 3-3 threes), 5 rebs, 3 asts, 4 stls; Drew Schindler 17 pts (8-12 FGs); Sam Backer 15 pts (7-10 FGs), 5 asts. Hopp hit three threes and scored 13 in the first half while Stevens scored 14 in the second half. Chatfield’s 78 points scored was a season-high) 

#5 in AA Maple River 67, Chatfield 41 (C: E. Hopp 13 pts, 4 rebs, 4 stls; I. Stevens 11 pts (3-4 FGs, 5-6 FTs), 6 rebs; D. Schindler 9 pts, 5 rebs. MR: Hayden Niebuhr 28 pts. MR led 23-21 at halftime, out-scored Gophers 44-20 in second half. Maple River improved to 11-1. Breakdown Southern Minnesota Hoops Fest game at Hayfield. Chatfield > 1-2, 4-6) 

#2 in AA Lake City 63, Caledonia 44 (C: R. Klug 11 pts; G. Konz 11 pts; M King 10 pts. LC: Hunter Lorenson 24 pts. Tigers are 10-0 including beating PEM 76-57 and Minneapolis-North 82-81. Breakdown Southern Minnesota Hoops Fest game at Byron. Warriors > 3-0, 3-3)
