Bonita Wingless obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Bonnie Wingness, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, surrounded with love by her family, at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, Minn.

Bonnie was born on December 11, 1939, to Glenn and Vergil (Sands) Wegner in Minneapolis, Minn.  She was the second of seven children.  On September 2, 1977, Bonnie married the love of her life, Duane Wingness, at the Fort Snelling Chapel, in Minneapolis, Minn.

Throughout her life, Bonnie wore many hats.  She worked as a real estate broker, a bookkeeper, office manager, and as a mother.  Her children were one of her proudest accomplishments.  Bonnie took great pride in raising her family; her grandkids brought her much joy.

She had a strong faith that brought her strength and gladness throughout her life.  Bonnie had a love of music, she enjoyed playing the piano and composing music.  In her spare time, she loved writing poems, gardening, spending time with her family (especially her grandkids and great-grandkids), and spending quality time on their deck with her most wonderful husband Duane.

Bonnie was survived by her husband Duane, her children Jeff Claussen (Sheryl), Jody Powers (David), Jane Senne (Lee), Janet Prinsen (Rick), Jerry Claussen (Michelle), Brian Wingness (Christine), and Jill Koch (Jerry); 16 surviving grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and siblings Sue Anderson, Debbie Elder and John Wegner.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Wayne Wegner, sister Patricia Johnson, sister Nancy Lambrecht, and granddaughter Sami Claussen.
