William Moe obituary, Fillmore County Journal

William “Bill” Clifford Moe, 67, of Peterson, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 15, 2026, after a long 7-year battle with cancer.

Bill was born February 3, 1959, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, to Conrad and Mary Moe. He grew up in Somerset, Wisconsin, and later lived in Stillwater, Minnesota, and New Richmond, Wisconsin, before settling in Peterson, Minnesota. He spent most of his career as a self-employed contractor, known for his hard work and dedication to his craft. Through his work, he had the pleasure of seeing the entire country.

He is survived by his wife Patty Highum-Moe, his children Mickey (Erin) Moe, Dan (Corey) Moe, Aaron (Kami) Highum, and Nena Highum; seven grandchildren: Gage, Nadia, Emma, Raena, Elliet, Audrey and Payton; his siblings Jim (Melissa) Moe and Linda (Roger) Fisher, his mother-in-law Nina Austin, his sisters-in-law Susie (Bill) Austin-Lesick and Sheree (Terry) Dahl, his brother-in-law Philip Austin, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Kathy and Patty, his father-in-law Perlum Austin, and his nephew Jon Moe.

Bill loved the Green Bay Packers, racing, bowling, cribbage and camping. He cherished spending time with friends and family and had a way of bringing a smile to all those around him. He loved dressing up for Halloween with his wife and was often heard singing his favorite tune “Delta Dawn.” He was known for his optimism, reminding those around him that “today is the first day of the rest of your life.”

A memorial service will be held on October 3 at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, Minnesota. The visitation will be at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at noon.

Hoff Funeral Home – Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements.
