Betty Rae Storlie, 72, of Spring Grove, Minn., died Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, Wis.

Betty was born May 21, 1947 in Preston, Minn., to Harvey and Shirley (Elton) Kraling. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Big Spring – Harmony.  She attended country school in Hutton Valley in the early years of her youth and is a 1966 graduate of Harmony High School.  She married Richard Storlie on October 19, 1968, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.  They farmed in Spring Grove Township of Houston County, Minn. She enjoyed working on the farm with Richard and their two children Stewart and Stacy and had been active with 4-H as a project and club leader. She enjoyed woodworking and was very creative, making toys and woodcrafts, many of which were donated to benefits and charities.

Betty is survived by Richard, her husband of 51 years; two children, Stewart of Spring Grove and Stacy (Rick) Nelson of Stewartville, Minn.; two grandchildren Anthony and Emily; siblings Bonnie (Galen) Casterton of Queen Creek, Ariz., Sheree (Jim) Gunderson of Stewartville, Peggy (Steve) Knudsen of La Crescent, Minn., Randy (Yvonne) Kraling of Spring Valley, Minn., and Tamie (Alvin) Nerstad of Mabel, Minn.; Also a brother-in-law, David (Marge) Storlie of Spring Grove; her husband’s sister-in-law Betty D. (Mrs. Norris) Storlie of  Harmony; 10 nieces and eight nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Polly Kraling; and a brother-in-law, Norris Storlie. 

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.  Visitation will be 4–8 p.m. Monday, November 25 at the Trinity Lutheran Church and also 10–10:45 a.m., prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date. The Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel is assisting with arrangements.
