Fillmore County Journal - Betty Hatleli Obituary

Betty J. Hatleli, 91, of Rushford, Minn., died on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.

Betty Jane Swenson was born on August 9, 1926, in Sheldon, Minn., to Jorgen and Vivian (Carrier) Swenson. She spent her early years in Sheldon. Betty was a 1944 graduate of Houston High School. On August 11, 1949, she was united in marriage with Gordon Hatleli at Rushford Lutheran Parsonage. She was a member of the Rushford Lutheran Church and its organizations. Betty was a Sunday school teacher and a treasurer of Sunday school for many years. She worked at Tri-County Electric in Rushford and retired as a head cashier.

Betty is survived by two children: Thomas (Karlene) Hatleli of Lanesboro, Minn., and Teryl Beth (Jeff Henriksen) of Winona, Minn.; five grandchildren: Ryan (Alisha) and Jay (Sara) Hatleli, Sara (Ben) Daley, Brent, and Lee (Stephanie) Runningen; and seven great-grandchildren: Natalie, Jaxon, Brielle, and Cora Runningen, Kenna, Quinn, and Sophia Hatleli; and Claire and Georgia Daley; two sisters, Ramona  Huber and Therese (Allton) Peterson; many nieces and nephews, and by a sister-in-law, Phyllis Hatleli.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon; parents, sister Geraldine Halverson; and brother Guy Swenson.

There will be a memorial service for Betty at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Rushford Lutheran Church, with the Reverend Roger Michaelson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church.
