Although there is a new owner of Beaver Bottoms Saloon in Fountain, Minn., she is a very familiar face to those who frequent the business.

Kylie Ramsey, daughter of former proprietor Jody Wiza, officially took ownership of the bar and restaurant on February 1, 2026, although she has grown up working in the business.

Jody opened Beaver Bottoms Saloon in 2018 as a partnership and took full ownership approximately a year later.

When asked why she wanted to take over the business, Kylie replied “I have been here since I was 13 or 14, I grew up in the business world. It just meant a lot because I know Mom spent a lot of hard work getting it going so it was hard for me to see it go. So, I was like well here we go, let’s take the next step in life,” and she moved ahead with becoming a business owner.

“She has been managing Beaver Bottoms for the last couple of years and assisting in Rueben and Things, Tips & Tails (food trucks) because it highly impacts Beaver Bottoms’ business in slow season,” stated Jody. “Kylie has always been a go getter; she sets her goals and achieves them without missing a beat! She’s a hard worker and dedicated to not only her work but her patrons.”

Kylie and her mom will still be showing up at local events with their food trucks.

“We have two trailers, so one of us will always be in one of the trailers,” explained Kylie. The food trucks will be found at “fairs, festivals, days, nights, events, campgrounds, breweries – all kinds of fun stuff.”

There have been a few small changes at Beaver Bottoms Saloon since Kylie became the owner, such as new bar stools, and she has some possible ideas for the future, but otherwise you can expect the same friendly faces, great service, delicious food and ice-cold drinks that patrons have come to expect and appreciate.

When asked what the best part is of being the owner of the business, Kylie said, “I’m really soley investing in myself and what I do for the place is actually benefiting myself and the business. All my hard work is starting to pay off.”

When asked what isn’t the best part of being a new business owner, Kylie quickly replied, “The amount of stress,” as many business owners would understand. “I’m trying to book all our summer concerts now, and it’s a lot of stress. Mom did that before and she was the one that was taking the risk there – I’m looking to provide the concerts, but it’s a huge risk and as a new business owner, it’s a tough risk to think about. But we are still going to be doing it.”

The concerts held at Beaver Bottoms Saloon, featuring well-known artists, have been very popular and have drawn large crowds in the past. Kylie is hoping that this year’s concert line-up will be just as well attended.  It will be a great way for the local community to show this new business owner their support.

Many other events are held at Beaver Bottoms Saloon including meat raffles, open mic nights, fish frys and more.

“Thank you to all our regulars that have supported us for the last eight years and who will continue to support me in my future and I look forward to seeing what this business endeavor does for me and the new customers that we start to see,” expressed Kylie.

“She’s got the business drive needed to succeed. She’s definitely made me proud of her to follow in my dreams, and I can’t wait to watch her grow in life seeing that she’s only 21!  Keep moving forward kiddo!!” stated Jody.

Beaver Bottoms Saloon is located at 98 Main Street in Fountain.  For more information phone 507-268-4464 or visit facebook.com/BeaverBottomsMN.
