Spring Grove’s Jaxon Strinmoen steals second base as R-P’s Riley Tesch awaits the throw. Strinmoen batted 3 for 4 while Tesch was the winning pitcher in relief in the game. At the Trojans’ Saturday tourney, R-P slipped past SG 6-5 on the back of Evan Skalet’s RBI-single in the sixth inning (of a scheduled five-inning game).

Wabasha-Kellogg 1, Fillmore Central/Lanesboro 11 [5] (FCL: P. Olson 2-3, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R; Dillon O’Connor 1-1, 2 RBI, 2 R; T. Sexton 3 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, Win; B. Corson 1-2, 2 R; G. Spring Grove 4, Houston 1 (SG: Nathan Solberg 1-2; Jaxon Strinmoen 1-3, three SB, 2 R; B. Jahnke 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 6 K, Win. H: Austin Swenson 1-2, 2B, RBI; Maddox Rodriguez 2-3; Lawrence Traun 6 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 3 K, Loss.

Out-hit 4-2, Spring Grove took advantage of nine free passes (eight walks, one hit batter). All four Hurricane hits came in different innings. The score was 2-1 after five. Hurricanes > 3-5, 5-8)

Glenville-Emmons/Alden-Conger 5, GMLOK 3 [8] (GMLOK: Caden Reiter 1-3, 2B, R; Conner Tangen 7 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 2 ER, 5 BB, 10 K. Down 3-1, GMLOK scored two runs (Reiter, Connor Munson) in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game. GEAC then scored two in the top of the 8th for the win. Bulldogs had beat Knights 7-1 in first meeting. Bulldogs > 1-7, 2-12)

Non-Conference

St. Charles 5, Mabel-Canton 1 (M-C: Cayden Tollefsrud 2-3, three SB, R; Tyler Larson 1-3, RBI, 6 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 4 K, Loss.  Score was 3-1 through four innings. Saints tacked on insurance runs in fifth and sixth)

GMLOK 8, Blooming Prairie 4 (GMLOK: C. Munson 3-4, two SB, RBI, R, 7 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, Win; Cole Kruegel 2-2, two SB, 2 RBI, 2 R; C. Tangen 1-4, 2 RBI, R. Bulldogs ended a seven-game losing streak)

Wabasha-Kellogg 3, Spring Grove 7 (SG: E. Griffin 2-4, HR, RBI, 2 R; J. Strinmoen 1-2, R; Braedon Solie 1-3, 2B, RBI, R; B. Jahnke 1-3, 2B, RBI, 2 R, 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, Save; Ty Cleven 5 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 8 K, Win. W-K scored the first three runs. Spring Grove scored the last seven. The Falcons out-hit the Lions 7-5, but SG had three of the four extra-base hits and left only four men on base compared to 10 stranded Falcons)

Mabel-Canton 4, Hayfield 5 (M-C: C. Tollefsrud 1-4, 2B, R, RBI; T. Larson 1-3, R; Jordan Larson 1-3, RBI. The Cougars went ahead 4-3 with a two-run fifth. Hayfield responded with two in their bottom to lead 5-4. Cougars > 2-7, 2-13)

Rushford-Peterson Tourney > Hayfield 2, R-P 1 [5] (R-P Creighton Hoiness 1-2, RBI; Rylan Schneider 5 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, Loss. Trojans trailed 2-0 heading to bottom of fifth, got one run and had two on, but game ended on double play); Spring Grove 2, Goodhue 3 [7] (Caleb Griffin 2-4, 2B; B. Jahnke 1-3, 2B, RBI, 6 1/3 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, Loss. In a second extra inning (game was scheduled for five), Goodhue got the walk-off win on a wild pitch. SG had two more hits but also two more errors. All five runs were scored after two outs); SG 5, R-P 6 [6] (R-P: E. Skalet 2-4, 3 RBI; Riley Tesch 2-4, 2B, 2 R, 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K, Win; Jonah Bunke 1-4, RBI, 2 R; Cad. Johnson 3 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 0 K, No Decision. SG: J.
