Barbara Ann (Kruegel) Dybvik passed into the eternal care of our Lord and Savior on January 28, 2018, at her home in Lake City, Minn. Barbara had battled lymphoma cancer since October 2017.
Barbara was born in Preston, Minn., to Arnold and Marguerite (Campbell) Kruegel on January 16, 1950. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Preston, graduating in 1968. That summer she participated in the Fillmore County Dairy Princess contest and was crowned Region 10 Dairy Princess. Barbara attended Mankato State and then became a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines. She married John Dybvik and they resided with their children, Jed and Nola, on the Dybvik family farm south of Harmony, Minn. They later divorced.
After moving to Lake City, Barbara enthusiastically restored and decorated her 1920s-era cottage style house. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to her yard, antiquing and ever-relishing “the art of the deal”! Barbara was a fun-loving gal who thrived on spending time with family and friends. Throughout her life, Barbara was known as the queen of clean and a gifted baker specializing in artistic cakes. She loved entertaining and had the gift of hospitality. Whenever you were in her presence, no matter the reason, she had a way of making you feel valued and loved. The greatest joy of her life was cultivating a special relationship with each of her six grandchildren: Garrett and Leighton Wradislavsky, Tiffany, Mackenzie, Brynlie, and Johnnie Dybvik. She made frequent trips to Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Ventura, Calif., as “Grandma B Extraordinaire”!
Barbara is survived by her son Jed F. (Trisha) Dybvik of Ventura, Calif., and daughter Nola J. (David) Wradislavsky of Blooming Prairie, Minn., and her grandchildren, also brothers Kent (Marge) Pfremmer of Lakeland, Fla., Philip (Vicki) Kruegel of Preston, Minn., sisters Shelia (Bill) Johnson of Lake City, Minn., Susan Kruegel of Red Wing, Minn., Jackie (Richard) Burmeister of Harmony, Minn., Gayle (Larry) Boraas of Red Wing, Minn., Lisa Stone of Patterson, Ga., Candace (Paul) Larson of Eagan, Minn.; step-brother Todd (Brenda) Hagel of Sparta, Wis., and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, Minn., on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.
Friends and family may call from 4-7 p.m Friday night at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, and again one hour prior to service Saturday morning at Christ Lutheran Church.

Although Barb was a friend only briefly while attending Mankato State in the ealry 70’s, we renewed acquaintences on facebook a couple of years ago. She was always a light to any room and it is truly sad that the Lord has claimed her at such a young age.

I loved your quick wit, sincere honesty, & unique view of life, even ae we shared the tough stuff in life.
My heart goes out to your loved ones today. Wish I could be there.. I
pray that God will comfort those of us who grieve your passing. I will never forget your bright smile, the sound of your laughter and your antics!
