Barbara Margaret Nagel was born to Russell and Leona (Hofner) Nagel of Lime Springs, Iowa, on October 16, 1959. She grew up with her older brother Philip on the Nagel farm a few miles west of Granger, Minn. It was there that she grew fond of her farm animals and became a member of the FFA and 4-H while attending Harmony High School. She also played volleyball and basketball for the Cardinals. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1978. Barb was baptized and confirmed at the Cherry Grove United Methodist Church and was a member there, and then a member of Sumner Center United Methodist Church after moving to rural Stewartville. After graduation she started her 44-year banking career at the Stewartville First National Bank and worked in the same building throughout its transition to Marquette Bank and to Wells Fargo. She really enjoyed getting to know her customers throughout the years. On September 24, 1983, she was united in marriage to Ronald “PeeWee” Koster in the Cherry Grove United Methodist Church. During their 41 years of marriage they built a family of four, with Benjamin being born in 1987 and Bethany in 1993. She enjoyed cheering on her husband and children at all of their games and was a wonderful “Softball Mom.” In 2013 she became a grandmother to Braxtyn and again in 2021 to Westyn. Her love for her family was immeasurable and she enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with them. Barb found pleasure in many things throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family the most, whether it was fishing, hunting, or gardening with them or cheering them on during their many sporting events, but what she really liked to do was bake for her friends and loved ones. Barb’s bars were always a hit and she made sure everyone got a famous “Barbie-sized piece.”
On Friday, April 4, 2025, Barb died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Throughout her life, Barb was a strong woman with a great attitude and smile. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend.
She is survived by her husband Ronald “PeeWee” Koster of Stewartville, Minn., children Benjamin and Bethany, grandchildren Braxtyn and Westyn, and a brother, Philip (Cindy) Nagel; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Leona. Condolences may be left at www.Hindtfuneralhomes.com.

My sympathy to Barb and her family. I grew up in lime springs and knew the kosters well. I have known the Nagels over the years.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
