Barbara Laumb obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Barbara Jo Laumb, 74, of Rushford, died Saturday, November 8, 2025, after a six-month battle with cancer, surrounded by her family at home.

Barb was born June 27, 1951, in La Crosse, Wis., to Charles and Wanda (Williams) Carrier.  She attended Houston High School and on March 16, 1968, she married Gerald “Jerry” Laumb at Rushford Lutheran Church.  Barb worked various places in the area until beginning her career at Sterling Pharmacy.  She truly enjoyed her time there and retired after 30 years due to her health.  She was a longtime member of Rushford Lutheran Church.

Barb enjoyed watching TV, especially game shows and Judge Judy.  She also enjoyed doing puzzles, drinking Mello Yello and Sundrop and spending time with her family.  Her grandchildren, who called her Nana, were her pride and joy.

She is survived by two daughters Amy (Curt) Luhmann and Sarah (Darin) Meyer, daughter-in-law Amber Laumb, grandchildren Heather, Matthew and Ethan Geiwitz, Brady and Makinna Laumb and Jacob and Jenna Meyer (Jordan Kohnen); great-grandchildren Haylee and Hayden Eddy and Jarvis Geiwitz; siblings Cynthia Lauritzen, Bruce (Deb) Carrier, Marl (Mary Ann) Carrier, Ken Carrier (Teesh Vix), Jeff “Pep” (Peg) Carrier, Ron (Kathy) Carrier, Van “Hoke” (Chris) Carrier and Todd Carrier; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry, son Gerald “Jay” Laumb, sister Jill (Kurt) Olloff, brother-in-law Dean Lauritzen, niece Deea Lauritzen and nephew Jesse Carrier.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at Rushford Lutheran Church, led by Dean Hatlevig.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service, all at the church.  She will be laid to rest at Rushford Lutheran Cemetery.
