Audrey Trogstad went to her maker on November 13, 2020, at the age of 94, at the Gundersen Healthcare at Harmony, Minn., with her family by her side.
Audrey Kester was born on September 21, 1926 in Orion Township, Olmsted Co., to Orlo and Francis (Smalley) Kester of Chatfield, Minn. Audrey graduated from Chatfield High School. She married Orval Trogstad on June 12, 1950, at Arendale Township in Fillmore County. Her enjoyment was knitting and crocheting. She went to several county fairs with her crafts, where she won many ribbons. Her biggest accomplishment was winning the sweepstakes award at the State Fair for her needlework.
She worked at the Fountain Variety Store and was a Semcac volunteer. She would go to schools to show kids how to knit and crochet, and then let them try it. She volunteered at the Historical Society in Fountain where she worked in the genealogy room, which she loved to do.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and farm wife. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids very much.
Audrey is survived by her three daughters: Dawn (Larry) Ristau of Preston, Minn., Dedra (Kyle) Langum of Cresco, Iowa, and Deneen Trogstad of Preston, Minn.; grandkids Travis (Cara), Wynn, and Joshua (Crystal) Ristau, Jessica (Gabe) Howe, Crystal (Matthew) Provuncher, Keith (Kimberly) Langum, Michael Langum (Morgan Bergan); great-grandkids Mark Alzamora, Ajay, Jersey, Cole, Chastidy, Cooper, Mason, Cadance, and Skylar Ristau, Kyra Throckmorton, Ashton and Nevaeh Howe, Ivy and Caleb Langum; sister Beverly Finseth, sister-in-law Mary Kester, and brother-in-law Tilford Rain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orval, four brothers: Cyril, Erwin (Boyd), Richard, and Harvey Kester; and one granddaughter.

I grew up on a neighboring farm at Fountain. Audrey and Orval volunteered at the Historical center at Fountain and I sometimes visited there. I do have some of Audrey’s ribbon winning tatting work that she gave my mother, Florence Odden. Such a treasure. I know she will be missed by many. Peace to her family. Ruby (Odden) Flowers
