LANESBORO, MN – Catherine Glynn’s A.R.T. (Audacious Raw Theater), Lanesboro Arts, and Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center proudly present Audacious Raw Theatre Year 5: Simple Gifts on Saturday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center’s North Campfire Ring. Come, gather in the woods to share and delight in the Simple Gifts eight generous and inspiring performing artists from around the country create!
Starting on July 11, 2021, A.R.T.’s Founder, Catherine Glynn will collaborate with seven other professional performing ARTists. For seven days, Eric Carranza, Aurelia Clunie, Rayna Jhaveri, Dominque Jones, Penelope Walker, Hilary Williams, Jerome Yorke, Jr., and Catherine Glynn will generate seven (or more) new devised theatrical works. These devised works are original theatrical performances built from the ground up through conversations, writing, movement exploration, and improvisatory theatre techniques. Over the week, together, this extraordinarily talented and diverse ensemble will tease out personal and unique performances they want to share with live audiences on July 17.
Year Five’s theme, “Simple Gifts,” stemmed from our year of lockdown, where life became both far more complex and also very straightforward. This year the ARTists will embrace their inner Thoreau and head to the woods (of Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center) to recreate and re-Create themselves deliberately. As they do so, they aim to band together and continue to “simply, simplify.”
Tickets will be $20 each for general admission and $15 for Lanesboro Arts and Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center members. More information and tickets can be found at lanesboroarts.org.
