Arol McCaslin obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Arol Clifton McCaslin Jr., age 72, of Owatonna, Minn., formerly of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus.

Arol was born in LeRoy, Minn., to Gale and Arol McCaslin Sr. on May 12, 1952. He graduated high school in LeRoy, Minn., and college in Ely, Minn. He loved nature, which led him to spend many years as a park ranger at Forestville State Park. He met the love of his life at the Rusty Rail in Taopi, Minn., and was married on April 30, 1977, in Austin, Minn. Aside from spending time with family and many dogs throughout the years, he was an avid baseball fan who loved watching his children and grandchildren on the field as much as following the Minnesota Twins.

Arol is survived by his wife Diane of Owatonna; children Jason (Julia) McCaslin of Chatfield, Katie (Matthew) Engesser of Eden Prairie, and Sean McCaslin of Waterville; grandchildren Braxton McCaslin of F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming, Isaiah and Annabelle Engesser of Eden Prairie, and Bryson McCaslin of Chatfield; and brother Stan (Sharon) McCaslin of St. Louis, Mo. Arol was preceded in death by his parents Arol Sr. and Gale, grandson Emmanuel Engesser, mother-in-law and father-in-law Anna and Ivan Miller, and brother-in-law Dan Miller.

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Arol will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, Minn., with Fr. Andrew Beerman officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin, Minn.

Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
