Arlynn L. Peirce, 83, passed away on Friday, December 13, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.
Arlynn was born to Guy and Viola (Wood) Peirce on August 23, 1936 in Preston.
He graduated from Preston High School in 1954. He met Valerie Myhre in Spring Grove in 1955. They married in 1956 and had four children but later divorced.
Arlynn lived and worked in several states during his lifetime. In Minnesota, he helped build and maintain roads for the State Highway Department in Rushford, was a police officer for the city of Preston, worked in manufacturing in Chatfield and did facilities management for Preston-Fountain High School. Arlynn also worked for The Housing Authority in Colorado and as a mechanic in Arkansas. He was a serious gun collector, an avid mechanic, and he loved motorcycles.
Arlynn is survived by his two sons Allen (Holli) Peirce of Becker and Randy of St. Paul, daughter Lori (Ken) McCabe of Chatfield, grandchildren Matt (Lindsay), Josh, Sara, Ryan and Scott (Nicole), all of Chatfield; Caleb (Dasha), Micah and Sydney, all of Becker; Ben and Nick of Arkansas, 13 great-grandchildren, and his former wife Valerie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Terry L. Peirce.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. Arlynn requested his body be donated to the Mayo Clinic Foundation for research.
