Arleen Delores Stensland Soltow died on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at her home in Decorah, Iowa. She was 86 years old. A graveside service with immediate family was conducted by Pastor Elliott Malm on Monday, April 6.
Arleen was born March 2, 1934, at the Spring Grove hospital, to her parents Maurice Stensland and Cora Loing Stensland. She was raised in the Mabel area and graduated from Mabel High School. She was a life-long and proud member of Mabel First Lutheran Church.
She married Neil A. Soltow in 1951. They raised three children, Scott (deceased), Kathryn Harris (Chicago), and Suzanne Twite (Eau Claire, Wis.). She is survived by her husband Neil, her two daughters Kathryn and Suzanne, son-in-law Mike Twite, granddaughters Melissa Fleck and Tara Soltow, grandsons Peter Twite, Simon Twite and Shaun Soltow; grandson-in-law Mark Allen; and great-granddaughter Stella Allen.
Arleen enjoyed working with Greg Wennes radio stations for over 35 years, serving her valued customers and friends, and hosting a regular radio show.
Arleen’s family sends warm thanks for the many cards, calls and flowers during her hospice care. The exceptional and loving care from the staff at Arlen Falck Assisted Living, the Winneshiek County Dialysis team, and the hospice caregivers helped make Arleen’s’ final weeks comfortable and filled with love.
