Andrew “Drew” Joel Sorom

December 28, 2021 by Fillmore County Journal

Andrew Sorom obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Andrew “Drew” Joel Sorom, 48, of Lanesboro, Minn., died tragically and unexpectedly on Monday, December 20, 2021.

Drew was born on July 31, 1973 in Reedsburg, Wis., to Richard and Kathryn (Prottengeier) Sorom. He graduated from Webb High School in Reedsburg. He worked as a painter for his dad and on his own.

Drew was a talented musician and artist. He wrote and performed for anyone who would listen. Drew enjoyed the simple life, being with friends and family, sitting around a fire playing his favorite songs. He loved everyone so much and wanted them to always know they were loved. His gentle soul and bear hugs will be forever what is remembered and missed.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, keep singing those beautiful songs you wrote and played. I’ve never seen a better rainbow.

Drew is survived by Nena Highum and two beautiful daughters, Raena and Elliet, his mother Kathryn Sorom, sister Jennifer (Steve) Hynek, nephews Thomas, Jack, and Sam Hynek; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Drew was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sorom.

There will be a service of remembrance at 10:30 a.m. on January 15, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church, 307 6th St. in Reedsburg, Wis. 53959. Also, a celebration of life will be held in the spring/summer of 2022. Information will later be posted.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Nena Highum at 300 Fillmore Ave. N., Lanesboro, Minn. 55949, or to Kathryn Sorom at 2137 Ridgeview Drive, Reedsburg, Wis. 53959 to be used at a later date. A memorial fund has also been established at Merchants Bank in Lanesboro, Minn.
