Andrew “Andy” N. Grinde, 79, of Rushford, Minn., died on Monday, November 21, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford.
Andy was born on November 24, 1936, in La Crosse, Wis., to Odin A. and Bertha E. (Anderson) Grinde. He was raised in the Rushford and Peterson areas. He was a 1954 graduate of Peterson High School. Andy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Andy was united in marriage with Annette (Marie) Berg on August 13, 1960. He farmed for many years and worked for G.S. Woxland Plumbing and Heating from 1982 until 2010. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 94 in Rushford. Andy enjoyed reading, television, fixing things and raising his four children.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; four children: Connie Grinde Morejon of Caledonia, Minn.; Cathleen Grinde of La Crescent, Minn.; Andrew Grinde Jr. of Happy, Tex.; and William “Bill” (Melissa) Grinde of La Crescent; three grandchildren: Jesse, Kayla, and Amelia; many nieces and nephews and by several brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a memorial service for Andy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016, at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Rushford. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the Service on Monday at the funeral home. Military Honors by American Legion Post 94 of Rushford will follow the service outside of the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rushford Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
