The Three Rivers All-Conference wrestling is highlighted by multiple selections from good Journal 11 squads Chatfield, Caledonia/Houston, and LARP. The conference champion Gophers have a league-high nine All-TRC picks. Chatfield gets three seniors (Grady Schott, Ethan Ruskell, and Caden Nolte), one junior (Ryan House), two sophomores (Gage Bartels, Kail Schott), and three freshmen (Javier Berg, Ben Carrier, Carson Rowland). G-Schott earned his fourth All-TRC selection. Bartels, Rowland, and K-Schott repeated. G-Schott (182) and Ruskell (220) each went 9-0 in TRC action. G-Schott is the 2021-2022 Section 1A and State Champion (41-1). Grady graduates a two-time state placer (2nd in 2021, 1st in 2022) with 135 career wins. Ruskell (220) made All-TRC in his first year of wrestling, taking third at sections (28-11). Kail Schott (170), Ben Carrier (126), Carson Rowland (132), and Ryan House (113) all went 8-1 in the TRC. K-Schott was 170-pound section champ and a state participant (37-6) for a second time. Carrier took third at sections (28-10). Rowland took fourth at sections (26-11). House took sixth at sections (20-12). Gage Bartels (113/120) went 7-1 versus the TRC. He was 1A runner-up and state participant (31-10). Caden Nolte (285) went 6-0 versus the TRC. He took third at sections (22-9). Javier Berg (106) went 4-0 versus the TRC. He won the 106-pound section title, making state (30-10). Three freshmen made All-TRC and all three were Gophers: Berg, Rowland, and Carrier. Caledonia gets four All-TRC picks, juniors Tucker Ginther and Ayden Goetzinger, sophomores Owen Denstad and Isaac Blocker. Denstad, Blocker, and Ginther each repeat. Denstad (132) was perfect versus the TRC (9-0). He was the 132-pound section champ and took 3rd place at state (46-5) in his second appearance. His 46 wins was the most of any Journal 11 competitor. Ayden Goetzinger (195) and Isaac Blocker (138) each went 8-1 versus the TRC. Goetzinger was 195-pound section champ and a state participant (32-9). Blocker took third at sections (41-7). Tucker Ginther (145) went 7-1 versus the TRC. He was section runner-up and took third at state (35-9) in his fourth state appearance. Ginther topped 100 career wins this season. LARP also gets four All-TRC picks, all seniors: Jacob Meyer, Tyler Kreidermacher, Brennan Corcoran, and Tyler Kryzer. Meyer (195) was 9-0 versus the TRC and took fifth at sections (31-12). Kreidermacher (113) went 8-1 versus the TRC and finished fourth at sections (31-10). He finished his career with over 100 wins and repeated as All-TRC. Corcoran (160) went 8-1 versus the TRC but didn’t place at sections (25-18). Kryzer (182) went 6-0 versus the TRC and finished third at sections (23-11). GMLOS gets three selections, seniors Christian Luthe and Donavon Felten, junior Cohen Wiste. Luthe (285) and Wiste (138) each went 9-0 versus the TRC. Luthe won a section title and participated at state (26-11). Wiste was section runner-up and participated in his fourth state tourney (41-6). Felten (145) went 8-1 in the TRC. He took third at sections (38-6). Wiste and Felten are each four-time All-TRC selections. Finally, FCLMC gets two All-TRC picks, junior Orion Sass and 8th grader Kane Larson. Larson (106) went 8-1 versus the TRC and finished fourth at sections (33-8). He was the only 8th grader to make All-TRC. Sass (170) went 7-1 versus the TRC. He took sixth at sections (33-10).
