There will be an inspirational speaker taking the stage in Fillmore County in the very near future.
On Wednesday, December 6, 2023, internationally-respected thought leader Alex Sheen will share his story and how he encourages people to fulfill their life ambitions. How to make and keep promises to yourself and others.
After his father lost his battle with cancer, Sheen decided to continue what his father had demonstrated to him throughout his lifetime. Make promises and keep them.
During his father’s eulogy, Alex began handing out “promise cards” to everyone present at the funeral.
Since his father’s passing on September 4, 2012, this movement titled “because I said I would,” has prompted Alex to send out over 15.1 million promise cards to people in more than 178 countries.
According to his bio, “Alex is one of the foremost experts on promises and commitment. He is a five-time TEDx speaker, author, podcast host, and internationally-recognized humanitarian. His work has been featured on the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, the Steve Harvey Show, CNN, Fox News and many other programs.”
During his visit to Fillmore County on December 6, he will give a presentation at Fillmore Central High School, speaking to students from seventh grade to 12th grade starting at 9:30 a.m. Then, he will make a stop at the Chatfield High School to share his story with students from seventh grade to 12th grade, starting at 1:30 p.m. Both presentations are expected to last upwards of 50 minutes.
On the evening of Wednesday, December 6, the public is invited to hear Alex Sheen’s story at the Chatfield Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. – at no charge.
