Alberta Lund, age 97, of Harmony, Minn., died peacefully on March 25, 2018, at the Gundersen Harmony Care Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 30 at the United Methodist Church, Harmony, Minn., with burial in Greenfield Lutheran Cemetery, Harmony. Friends may call on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.
Alberta, daughter of Albert and Hazel (Burnham) Johnson, was born on October 1, 1920, and raised primarily in southern Minnesota. She graduated from Mabel High School and worked for a short time in La Crosse before returning home and working for her father. When she was 19, she met and married Leslie Lund, and together they raised their four children in Harmony. Alberta was known for her great cinnamon rolls and cookies. She loved sewing and needlework and coffee with her friends and family.
Alberta is survived by her children: Rogers (Dee), of Napa, Calif., Stephan (Linda) of Albert Lea, Minn., Mary (Keith) of The Villages, Fla., and Warren (Ginny) of Cottage Grove, Minn.; nine grandchildren: Rogers Jr. (Crystal), Leslie, Jennifer, (Kenneth), Derrick (Liz), Brock (Bridget), Kristina, Adam, Becky, Sarah, Doug; 16 great-grandchildren: three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Vivian Northrup.
Alberta was predeceased by her husband Leslie; siblings: Winifred Halvorson, Knute Johnson, Betty Wiger, and Albert K. Johnson: and a granddaughter, Rachel Lund.
