Norrin Leslie Storelee passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at Chosen Valley Care Center, Chatfield, Minnesota.
Norrin was born on the Storelee farm, June 21, 1929, to H. Oscar and Clara (Larson) Storelee. He was baptized and confirmed at Union Prairie Lutheran Church where he was an active member, having served as a deacon, trustee, president of the church council, and served later years on the cemetery board. He attended Larson Country School through fourth grade and finished at the Preston Public School, graduating in 1947. After graduating he went into partnership with his father, farming.
In the spring of 1952 he met his future wife, Phyllis Hansen, on a trip to a car show in Chicago. They were united in marriage November 8, 1952, at United Lutheran Church, Oak Park, Illinois.
Norrin was a member of the Preston Masonic Lodge #36, serving as Master and secretary for many years. He was also a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Rochester, Osman Shrine, and the Merry Medics where he enjoyed being “Karefree the Clown.” He spent many years donning makeup and his clown costume to make children smile with his balloon making and handing out candy. In later years he also became a member of the Sons of Norway.
Norrin is survived by two children, Dwight (Luanne Skalet) Storelee of Lanesboro, Minnesota, and Dawn (James) Erlandson of Woodbury, Minnesota; four grandchildren: Kayla (Richard) Hasvold, Brett (Hannah Myers), Emily Erlandson (Renata Sequeto), and Erik Erlandson; and five great-grandchildren: Ethan, Eva and Owen Hasvold, and Cliff and Wesley Storelee.
He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his parents, one sister, Arleen Amundson; and brother-in-law Robert Amundson.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
The celebration of life for Norrin Leslie Storelee will be held on July 15 at 11 a.m. with visitation at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Union Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Lanesboro with Rev. Daryl Thompson officiating. Lunch will follow in the church basement. Burial will be in the Union Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in rural Lanesboro following the service.
