Sharon Maxine Sikkink, 87, passed away July 5, 2026, in Chatfield, Minnesota, at the Chosen Valley Care Center.  She was born October 6, 1938, to Bernie and Esther Brueggeman in Wykoff, Minnesota.

On March 21, 1959, she married Elton Eugene Sikkink at Ft. Riley, Kansas. They had two children, Richard (Pamela Erding) Sikkink and Michelle (Bryan) Root, which resulted in four grandchildren: Thomas (Tina) Erding, Troy (Jodi) Erding, Breanna (Derek) Torkelson, and Natasha (Cody) Howe; 11 great-grandchildren: Brittany Erding, Shelby (Justin) Antoff, Courtney (Mike) Gilsdorf, Janessa, Mason (Kenzie) Erding, Aubryn, Oakley, Sawyer Howe and Everly and Wrenly Torkelson; and four great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

She had two sisters, Joyce (Jack) Deyo and Marlene (Jim) Kasten. She has two nephews and two nieces: Scott and Chris Deyo, and Debbie and David Kasten.

She attended Wykoff High School where she graduated and then became a nursing assistant.  Sharon also volunteered with Wykoff Ambulance for many years.

She was active in many circles and clubs, enjoyed baking and decorating her home, especially for the holidays.

The job she did with her whole heart was daycare for over 30 years and she was Grandma Sharon to many children. Some of these children became extra special parts of the family and even spent time with Grandpa Elton and Grandma Sharon even after their daycare days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elton, her son Richard, and also one brother-in-law, Jack.

A memorial service for Sharon will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wykoff, MN, with Pastor Kay officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Immanuel Lutheran Church and will continue from 10-11 a.m. on Monday prior to the start of the service.
