In a matchup of last year’s co-SEC softball champs, Houston smacked Southland 17-1 in four innings. Kayla Klunder drove in six runs and Claire Frauenkron improved to 3-0 on the mound. Josh Swenson’s Hurricanes are 1-0 in the SEC, 3-0 overall. Avery Augedahl struck out 11 of 12 batters she faced and pitched a four-inning perfect game as Caledonia softball topped FC/L 28-0 by mercy rule. Warrior Ashlyn Reinhart had two doubles and a home run with 4 RBI while Brairy Proulx and Vivian Kittleson each had 5 RBI. Hailee Warren hit a home run as GMLOK topped FC/L 18-3 in four innings. Gwen Lieb homered for the Falcons in defeat. Claire Sherburne hit a home run and struck out 17 (walked 10) as SG beat Hayfield 8-2. Izabel Kaufmann also homered for the Lions. RPH’s Aubry Boldt won the 100-hurdles, Long Jump, and Triple Jump competitions at the St. Charles track and field meet. Male teammate Chace Drazkowski swept first in the throw events (Shot Put and Discus). Cal/SG 7th grader Finley Wait won the 100- and 200-meters. Multi-time state golf qualifier Jack Brogle of Lanesboro started his season by shooting even par (36) as the Burros (177) topped an incomplete Glenville-Emmons team.
