Taylor Horsman obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Taylor Jeanne was born on March 9, 1992, in Rochester, the daughter of Brett Horsman and Jeanne Conway. She attended school in Chatfield and graduated from Eyota High School in 2010. Taylor loved spending time outdoors and had a wonderful circle of friends. She was a “girlie” girl and loved doing hair and nails and making everyone else feel pretty. She was smart, witty, and wise beyond her years.

Following high school, she trained as a CNA and worked in memory care in Rochester and then brought her passion to the Chosen Valley Care Center where she loved and cared for the residents. Later, she worked for her Uncle Patrick as she managed the County Line Bootleg Wine & Liquor Store in Chatfield.

She loved her family fiercely, especially her children and her grandparents. The births of her daughters Averi and Layla were the highlight of her life. They were the sunshine to her darkest days.

Taylor will be missed and remembered by her cherished children Averi Spencer-Carpenter and Layla Gronseth, both of Hastings, her mother Jeanne (Adam) Penhollow of Albert Lea, her father Brett (Beth) Horsman of Pilot Mound, her siblings Blane Finke of Wykoff, Hunter Benson of St. Paul, Kaitlyn Finke of Wykoff; Hailey Penhollow of Leroy, Brynn and Brayden Horsman of Pilot Mound, her maternal grandparents Jim and Janet Conway of Chatfield and paternal grandmother Doris Horsman of Pilot Mound. She is further survived by the fathers of her children, A.J. Carpenter and Drew Gronseth, loving aunts, uncles, cousins and so many dear friends.

Taylor was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Duane Horsman and aunt Tessa Conway.

A funeral service for Taylor will be held at the Fillmore Free Methodist Church in Wykoff on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Larry Day officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Hoff Funeral Home in Chatfield on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. and again at the church in Wykoff one hour prior to services.
Pallbearers will be AJ Carpenter, Drew Gronseth, Ben and Blaine Finke, Hunter Benson and Nick Luna.

Taylor will be remembered for her compassion for others and her love for those in her life. She checked in often with those she loved and always ended the conversation with, “I love you more than everything” and a special “Schlemiel!” “Schlimazel!” to her mom.
