Caledonia (14-0, 22-7) went unblemished through the TRC to claim the East division crown over Cotter/Hope Lutheran (11-3, 16-11), Rushford-Peterson (8-5, 18-9), Fillmore Central (5-8, 14-13), and La Crescent/Hokah (2-11, 9-18). In the TRC West, Dover-Eyota (12-3, 16-11) topped PEM (10-5, 17-9), Lewiston-Altura (8-7, 19-10), Chatfield (5-10, 8-19), St. Charles (4-11, 6-21), and Wabasha-Kellogg (0-5, 3-23). Four Warriors, two Trojans, two Gophers, and one Falcon notably make All-TRC. For Caledonia, Aubrie Klug (5’10” Sr. G), Nicole Banse (5’8” Sr. G), Kensey King (6’1” Sr. F), and Ashlyn Reinhart (5’6” Fr. G) are honored. Klug and Banse each earned their third all-league nod. Klug had a massive year averaging roughly 26 points per game with about 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3-plus steals. She hit 127 (or more) threes at a strong 39% clip. She scored in double figures in every game including 30-plus on 10 occasions, 20-plus on 22 occasions. Her field goal splits were roughly 45% (field), 39% (deep), and 87% (free throw line). Klug finishes her career as the Warriors all-time leading girls’ scorer, their only 2,000-point scorer, with 2,055. She averaged roughly 17 PPG as a sophomore, 20 PPG as a junior, and 26 PPG as a senior, a very impressive three-year stretch. After being All-State honorable mention last season, Klug is one of 10 to make Class AA All-State this year. Banse joined her to form the TRC’s best backcourt, maybe for three years running. She averaged about 14 PPG with 4-plus rebounds, 4-plus assists, and 4-plus steals per game. She led the team in steals. Banse shot about 44% from the field and about 35% from deep. She finished her fine career with 1,092 career points. King averaged 9-plus points and 7-plus rebounds per game. She led the Warriors in rebounding while also shooting about 50% from the field. Reinhart moved up from bench player into a key ball handler for the Warriors. The frosh averaged better than 5 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game with roughly 2.5 steals. She led Caledonia in assists and was a determined defender. Making All-TRC HM are Jessica Stendel (6’2” Jr. C > roughly 7.0 PPG and 6.0 RPG, 53% FGs) and Peyten Felten (5’9” Sr. F). All stats for Caledonia are missing one game. The Warrior senior group led their team to a 71-20 record the past three years including last year’s Section title. This is the last group for long-time Head Coach Scott Sorenson, who announced his resignation at the end of the season after 22 years. The Warriors made state six times in his tenure (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2019, 2025) including claiming the 2009 Class AA title while finishing as runner-up in 2019. He finishes with a career record of 433-177. For Rushford-Peterson, seniors Nadia Happel (5’7” G) and Torryn Schneider (5’5” G) are honored as All-TRC, each repeating. Schneider led the team with 12.7 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.9 steals per while also notching a team second-best 5.5 rebounds per. She also hit 79% of her free throws to lead the team (of those shooting more than 10). Happel averaged a team second-best 12.4 points with 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 steals. Schneider (975) and Happel (913), four-year varsity players, each surpassed 900 career points. Making All-TRC HM for the Trojans are Allanah Skalet (5’5” So G > 10.3 PPG, team-best 57 threes made, 2.8 APG), Kaia Loney (5’11” Jr. F > 12.2 PPG, team best 8.0 RPG, team-best 56% field goals), and Emily Helgemoe (5’6” So. G > 8.3 PPG). Led by the seniors, R-P’s girls have gone a solid 56-27 over the past three years. Chatfield’s two selections are Amaya Harmening (5’10” Sr. C) and Grace Schroeder (5’8” Sr. G). Harmening repeats as All-TRC while Schroeder moves up from All-TRC HM. Schroeder led the team for a second straight year by scoring 15.1 PPG. She added 3.6 rebounds and 3.1 steals per. Harmening was the second leading scorer at 12.1 PPG, the top rebounder at 9.9 RPG. She thus just missed averaging a double-double. Fillmore Central’s sole All-TRC pick is Sophia Bronner (6’0” Sr. C). She averaged a double-double, with 12-plus points and 11-plus rebounds per game while shooting a team best 47%. She had 10 double-doubles. The senior’s season was limited to just 19 games per a knee injury. Making All-TRC HM for the Falcons are Kyla Hellickson (5’8” Sr. F/G > 10-plus PPG, 6-plus RPG), Hannah Vaalemoen (5’9” So. G > team-best 12-plus PPG, 4-plus RPG), and Aubrey Daniels (5’4” Sr. G > 7-plus PPG, almost 4.0 APG, almost 3.0 SPG – team assist and steal leader). All-TRC selections from teams not covered by the Fillmore Country Journal are Dover-Eyota’s Aby Griebenow (6’2” So. F/C), Jayda Davis (5’8” Sr. G), and Luka Thompson (5’6” So. G), Cotter/HL’s Camrie Macal (5’10” Sr. F) and Alayna Hardy (6’2” Jr. C), Lewiston-Altura’s Maycie Mierau (Jr. G) and Rinlee Bergan (Fr. G), La Crescent/Hokah’s Brooklyn Mitchell (Sr. C), and PEM’s Alyvia Engler (5’5” Sr. G). Engler was Class AA All-State Honorable Mention.

All-SEC Girls Basketball

Southland (11-1, 23-5) won the Southeast Conference with Lanesboro (9-3, 17-11), and Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton (9-3, 16-9) tying for second place. Houston (7-5, 11-16), Kingsland (3-9, 5-20), Grand Meadow (2-10, 3-24), and LeRoy-Ostrander (1-11, 2-24) round out the conference standings. SG/M-C gets three 1st or 2nd team all-league picks, all repeat selections. Kinley Soiney (5’11” Sr. G/F) is the only five-year All-SEC (1st team the last four years) after receiving HM as a seventh grader – the first three seasons playing for Mabel-Canton and the last three for SG/M-C. During SEC games, she led the Lions in four categories – scoring (14.6 PPG), rebounding (7.4 RPG), assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0) and three-point baskets (2.6 per game) in addition to averaging 3.0 assists and shooting 35% from deep. Soiney is M-C’s career leader in both scoring with 2,024 points and rebounding with 1,080 boards. Siri Konkel (5’4” Sr. G), All-SEC 1st team for a third season, became SG’s all-time leader in both assists (615) and three-point field goals (194) and ranks third with 1,295 career points. During SEC games, she led the Lions in both assists (4.9 APG) and free throw accuracy (77%). Konkel also contributed 13.2 points, 2.3 steals and 2.3 three-point field goals per game along with a splendid 1.9 assist-to-turnover ratio. Kylie Hammel (5’ 10” Sr. F) is All-SEC 2nd team for a second season after two years receiving HM. During SEC action, she led SG/M-C in three-point accuracy (39%) and blocked shots (1.4 BPG) while also averaging 9.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Hammel shot 68% from the free throw line and had an excellent 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. She graduates third all-time with 716 rebounds, fifth with 99 blocked shots and sixth with 1,197 career points. Receiving All-SEC HM is younger sister, reserve Lauren Hammel (5’8” So. F > 4.7 PPG, 4.8 RPG). Lanesboro had just one pure All-SEC selection in Jensyn Storhoff (5’7” Sr. G). She is the SEC Player of the Year. Storhoff earned her fourth All-SEC 1st team selection (and she was All-SEC HM as an 8th grader). The skilled guard again was the SEC’s best overall player, leading her team in scoring at 21 per, rebounding at 7.7 per, assists at 4.9 per, and steals at 4.2 per. She also hit a team best 64 threes at 34% clip. She scored in double figures in every game but two while scoring 20 or more in a game 18 times, notching double-digit rebounds seven times, five-plus assists 14 times, and five-plus steals ten times (including twice over 10). She is arguably the Burros’ top ever girls basketball player. She finishes as the only Burro, male or female, to top 2,000 career points (2,159) while also compiling over 750 career rebounds, 550 career assists, and nearly 500 career steals. She was a five-year varsity starter playing for four teams that finished above five hundred including a pair of 1A semifinalists. She is signed to play basketball at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. Making All-SEC HM for Lanesboro is Hailey Erickson (5’9” Sr. F > team second bests 7.7 PPG, 6.2 RPG). Houston gets one All-SEC 1st team and one 2nd team selection. Aubry Boldt (5’11” Sr. G) earns her third All-SEC nod, her second straight as 1st Team. She led the Hurricanes in scoring at 19.7 per game while adding 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals per. Aubry scored in double figures in every game but four including surpassing 20 on 16 occasions. She also led the team in field goal percentage at 53%. She finishes her fine career with 1,416 career points, which is fourth all-time in ‘Canes girls history behind Sydney Torgerson (1,792), Alyssa Rostad (1,756), and her coach Emma Geiwitz (1,660). Jorja Meyer (5’10” Sr. C) moves up to 2nd team after being All-SEC HM last year. Meyer averaged a double-double, 11 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, leading the team on the glass. She had 13 double doubles on the season. Making All-SEC HM is Avery Kingsley (5’7” Sr. G > 9.7 PPG, 2.9 RPG). Kingsley, who missed time to injury as a junior and was slowed as a senior, finished with 1,085 career points. She averaged 17 per game as a sophomore in 2023-2024 when she was All-SEC 1st team. For Grand Meadow, Gracie Foster (5’6” Sr. G) makes All-SEC a third time, the 1st team for a second straight year. She averaged a team best with about 15.5 points per game with 5.0 RPG, 2.1 APG, and 2.1 SPG.
