Just like their football team, Grand Meadow volleyball’s season-opening schedule wasn’t easy. They first hosted strong East club Lanesboro, falling 3-2. Sue Wilson’s group then had to trek to powerhouse M-C. After two matches, defending West champ GM was 0-2. But the Larks have since won five straight including notching a 2-0 week. Team Purple dispatched with Lyle/Pacelli 3-0 (25-27, 25-10, 25-17). Hailey Hindt (12 kills, 8 digs, 4 aces) and Madison Hindt (14 assists, 3 aces) led the way with help from Anna Oehlke (4 aces, 5 digs) and River Landers (4 kills). The Larks had 18 aces. GM then swept G-E (25-13, 25-12, 25-17). H-Hindt (16 kills, 5 aces) and M-Hindt (4 kills, 18 assists, 9 digs) led the way with help from Emma Grafe (3 kills, 15 assists, 6 digs) and Sydney Cotten (14 digs). GM (5-2, 5-2) trails Kingsland (4-1, 4-2) in the SEC-West.
