It is to be expected. When you are a defending state team qualifier with your top runners back, and then the number of teams at every cross country meet are diminished due to COVID-19, you will probably win often. In their second meet of the year, LARP’s boys again ran to victory. Matt Kingsbury’s group (19) didn’t have much trouble beating R.A.A.C.E. (40) and W-K (78) to win the Jaguars home meet. The LARP crew nearly matched Chatfield’s girls, as they came a few points away from a perfect score. Luke O’Hare (17:04), Tyler Rislov (17:05), and Andrew Hoiness (17:38) finished 1-2-3 for the second straight meet. Coach Kingsbury: “Luke and Tyler raced each other all the way to finish line.” R.A.A.C.E. had runners four and five, but then LARP guys Ryan Prinsen (18:35) and Tyler Betthauser (18:57) took sixth and seventh. Hoiness and Prinsen had personal best times. Twenty-one guys competed. On the girls’ side, LARP finished second (55) to R.A.A.C.E. (18) with W-K (63) taking third. Jaguar runners Sarah Baum (20:11), Isabelle Alderson (20:19), and Anna Carlson (21:21) went 1-2-3 with LARP freshman Lauren Honken (21:32) taking fourth. R.A.A.C.E. had seven girls in the top ten. Seventeen gals competed total. Each 5-kilometer run was held the Northwoods Orchard in Douglas, Minnesota.
