Memorial service for William “Bill” Keim will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2023, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Preston, Minn., with Pastor Roger Lokker officiating. Burial will be in the Greenleafton Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. on December 21, 2023, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Preston and will continue for one hour prior to the service
Bill Keim, age 75, of Preston, Minn., died Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Green Lea Manor in Mabel, Minn.
He was born November 4, 1948 in Preston, Minn., to Herman and Antonia (Schroeder) Keim. Bill attended and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1966 and went on to school at the University of MN, graduating in 1970. He was united in marriage to Kaye Kruegel at the Greenleafton Reformed church on April 7, 1973, and together they farmed all their life in the Preston area. Bill enjoyed driving his side by side and socializing, he definitely had a “gift to gab.” He also enjoyed reading, watching the news and RFD TV and watching online auctions. Bill (Grandpa) also enjoyed spending time teaching and advising his four grandsons. He also served as treasurer for the Fillmore County Corn Growers Association for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kaye Keim of Preston, Minn.; two sons, Nathan (Andrea Schwartz) Keim and Jeremy (Heather Kaster) Keim, also of Preston; grandchildren Cowan, Carter, Corbin and Calvin Keim and Branden and Megan O’Conner; and Allyson and Ben Klankowski and their family, siblings Katherine Ellerby of Gladstone, Oreg., Sarah Arett of Annapolis, Md., and Robert (Marcia) Keim of LeRoy, Minn.; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law, Naomi Sue Keim; a sister, Margaret; and brother-in-law Joe.
