Candidate for Harmony Mayor
1. Tell us about yourself.
I grew up in St Cloud, Minn., and have lived in four other states before circling back to my home state. I hold an associate degree in general studies from Northern New Mexico Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, from Mississippi University, for Women with a minor in Philosophy. I worked in education for 23 years. I retired after 15 years as lead teacher in a before and after school program, while I also served as chapter president for California School Employee Association for 11 consecutive years. I was awarded CSEA Member of the year in June 2020.
2. Why are you running for office?
To be mayor of Hamony is a great opportunity to give back to the community that my husband and I have found is a great place to live in and be a part of. I am interested in progressing Harmony’s future while fostering input from all of Harmony’s citizens, particularly those that may feel underrepresented by their local government. I also intend to promote transparency in my efforts of serving the people of Harmony.
3. What do you hope to accomplish if you get elected?
I hope to increase community engagement in financial and strategic planning while also promoting forward thinking for both the growth and development of Harmony’s future businesses with serious consideration for its varied needs and wholesome wishes. I intend to explore the possibility of restoring a pharmacy to Harmony so as to provide a needed and missed convienence for its residents and their health care needs.
