The Spring Valley class of 1955 celebrated their class reunion June 12 at the VFW in Spring Valley. It was necessary for us to cancel the reunion twice last year due to the coronavirus. The noon mealwas catered by Ody’s of Ostrander.
There were 47 students in the class of 1955. There are 29 living and 18 have passed away. There were 15 who attended the reunion. Some could not attend because of illness or had other commitments.
The afternoon went fast, reminiscing and listening to stories from the class.
Steve Collins from California and Jan Conway from Wisconsin were the out-of-state attendees. Special guests were Mary and Marie Grabau (twins), who are cousins of Steve Collins, graduating a couple of years before us. They were interesting to visit with and we were glad they could come.
LuVerne Barth from Chatfield won the door prize. Everyone went home with something, compliments of Pat Behrens and her daughter.
Our class has had reunions every five years since graduating in 1955. The next reunion will be held in 2023. The class will be notified at a later date.
