Scott Wallace
Candidate for City of Houston Mayor
1. Tell us about yourself.
I was born and raised on a family farm in Ottertail County, Minn. In my earlier days I worked 18 years in agri business, driving truck, mixing feed and department manager of local co-ops. I then worked 14 years in the insurance industry. The last three years, business partner with two of my sons as an independent contractor with FedEx Ground. My wife Darla and I moved to Houston two years ago. We have two teenagers in Houston High School.
2. Why are you running for office?
To connect and build relationships with those in the community that are truly inspired to help make a positive difference. I believe we can work together to preserve the natural beauty of our area and support local business owners. We can support and develop attractive outdoor activities that children and adults can safely enjoy.
3. What do you hope to accomplish if you get elected?
I would work with the DNR to find alternatives for the original OHV trail project. The OHV project is simply a very bad idea for the community; procrastinating and dragging this project out has become very damaging to the community.
