Real Bites

September 7, 2020 by Jason Sethre

Old Barn Resort

The Old Barn Resort has it all: golfing, camping, dining, swimming, nature, sunshine.  It’s a great place to escape work, technology, and projects at home.

And owners Travis Dundore and Eric Brenna (along with their wives) have worked tirelessly to perfect each facet of their operations.  They’ve continuously re-invested in every aspect of the business.

From signage to delicious food to ambiance, they’ve established a brand that people will wear with pride (check out their online store for sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats).  They’re all about providing a quality experience.

This past weekend, we stopped by the Old Barn Resort for supper.  My wife and I both ordered the specials.  Mine was the coconut shrimp with fries and Amanda’s choice was the Hawaiian chicken sandwich.  Both were incredible, as expected.  The description of the coconut shrimp on their menu explains it best: “8 rolled in shredded coconut and Panko breadcrumbs. Fried, crispy and delicious. Served with our homemade sweet pineapple sauce.”

Along with my meal, I coincidently ordered a Maui Coconut Hiwa porter beer.  It paired well with the coconut shrimp because it was coconut flavored with a hint of vanilla.

I’d highly recommend stopping by the Old Barn Resort soon, as they do close their restaurant for the season toward the end of November — reopening around March or April.

We need to enjoy these beautiful days and delicious food as much as possible.
